Transforming Skincare and Redefining Self-Care: A Conversation with Rachel Lee Lozina of Blue Water Spa
Dec 04, 2024In the latest episode of Hamptons Hustle & Heart, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Rachel Lee Lozina, the founder and owner of Blue Water Spa. With over 21 years of experience as a licensed esthetician, Rachel has dedicated her career to transforming how people approach skincare. She combines cutting-edge technology with personalized care, offering non-invasive, results-driven treatments that challenge traditional notions of what a facial can achieve.
Rachel’s journey from Oyster Bay to the Hamptons is one of passion, resilience, and innovation. Here’s a glimpse into our conversation.
Revolutionizing Skincare: More Than a Pampering Session
When it comes to facials, Rachel is clear: not all treatments are created equal. She highlights the two extremes in the industry—overly pampering, ineffective spa treatments, and invasive medical procedures—and explains how her approach bridges the gap.
“I focus on results-driven, non-invasive treatments that make a physiological change in the skin without downtime. Using high-tech tools like microcurrent, ultrasound, and LED lights, we can lift, sculpt, and rejuvenate the skin naturally.”
Her passion for skincare goes beyond providing treatments. Rachel educates her clients about the importance of investing in high-quality skincare products, emphasizing ingredients like vitamins A, C, and E, peptides, and sunscreen as essentials for healthy, vibrant skin.
The Entrepreneurial Leap to the Hamptons
Rachel recently expanded Blue Water Spa to Southampton, a decision influenced by both her loyal clients and, surprisingly, a conversation with Drew Barrymore.
“Drew told me, ‘You need to come out here. We need you.’ That was my sign to take the leap.”
But opening a spa in the Hamptons has its challenges. Rachel navigates the seasonal fluctuations of the region while maintaining her commitment to excellence. Her innovative networking and connection-building, including joining Hamptons BossMoms before her spa even opened, have helped her carve out a niche in this competitive market.
Balancing Hustle and Heart
As a mother of three and a thriving entrepreneur, Rachel understands the juggling act many women face. Her secret? Gratitude and self-care.
“I take a bath almost every day—it’s my way of letting the air out of my tire. And I remind myself why I do this: to serve others and make a positive impact.”
Her advice for aspiring entrepreneurs is simple yet profound: live a life of service, and success will follow.
Giving Back Through Kindness Week
Rachel’s commitment to community extends beyond her business. Her Kindness Week initiative encourages people to donate gift cards to local food pantries. In return, donors receive a complimentary mini-facial—a way to spread kindness while introducing more people to Blue Water Spa.
“It’s about being kind to yourself and others. You’re helping a family in need and treating yourself to some well-deserved self-care.”
The Future of Skincare
As we wrapped up our conversation, Rachel shared her excitement about the future of skincare, including events to educate clients about home-care devices and innovative treatments. Her dedication to her craft and her clients’ well-being is evident in everything she does.
